First let me apologize for my hiatus over the last three months, after several business ventures, several interviews, and the purchasing of a house followed up with the holidays and then my entire home having Covid run through it I am officially back. I am also looking to write on a more consistent basis looking at once or maybe twice a week depending on what’s going on. But here is a look at what my last three months have kind of looked like:

What Are The Flyers?
Real easy question, right? Simple they are a dumpster fire that’s blazing right next to natural gas production plant that has a leak just waiting to blow up in our faces. I know we all see it, they are downright bad, and our only upsides are a promising look at Cam York, and Joel Farabee who continues to light the lamp and play hard night in and night out. With our odds increasing more and more of getting a high draft selection it is time to look for potential suitors for guys like Risto, Yandle, Braun, and Giroux. all 4 are currently healthy and have expiring contracts at the end of the season.

Yandle:
Keith Yandle has a very easy contract to trad making less than a million although he has a no trade clause. I can’t imagine Yandle is having a lot of fun with the amount of losing they are doing so why not go help a team who needs a powerplay specialist such as: the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Redwings, or Los Angeles Kings. Personally, I believe that Toronto makes the most sense for both Yandle and the Leafs as they are going to be relying on their powerplay to get them to the promise land this year and could really utilize good puck mover along the blue line to take some of the pressure off of the top unit and open up more quick passing lanes for Wayne Simmonds and Jason Spezza.
Braun:
I’m not sure how Braun did it but he has turned the clocks back a bit and has been playing a very consistent brand of hockey that most would argue that he has been the team’s best defenseman. He still a very solid stay at home defenseman that can play at a high level on the penalty kill. Im willing to venture that he could help out a team like the Oilers who are in desperate need for blue line help and are on the brink of a catastrophic collapse in Edmonton. Other teams that would draw some interest would be the Kings and also the Redwings as both teams are thin at defense but I don’t see them wanting Braun as much as the Oilers.
Ristolainen:
Now here would be a move that would be very bad if not done properly as Risto is primed to be a key piece to any teams lineup that would be looking to make a deep playoff run. The caveat to that would be that we gave up Hagg and first round pick to get him for what seams like a waisted rental as his contract expires this offseason. So either the Flyers need to extend him and waste his prime or deal him and hope to at least recoup a first round pick as compensation for the one they wasted last offseason. The teams that make the most sense in my opinion would be the Kings or the Ducks as they would add some true grit to their lineups and add a borderline top pairing defenseman to their teams. The Kings are currently sitting in second in the pacific while the Ducks are sitting in third with both teams battling it out for playoff spots I would be willing to guess they would looking to beaf up those blue lines.

Giroux……
The captain of the Flyers is slowly but surely coming to the realization that this team is no where near ready to push for a Stanly Cup and are closer to rebuilding then challenging for a playoff spot. Obviously Giroux has a full no move clause and would require his permission to move him anywhere but I cant imagine he wants to just stick it out. Among the teams that have been rumored to have interest in Giroux are the AV’s, Wild, and Bruins. Personally, I think it makes the most sense for him and the Wild to come together as the wild need center help although Giroux doesn’t play much center anymore it could be very beneficial if he slides into that 2C role and could very much help that first or second powerplay unit while adding to the penalty kill as well. I don’t see the Flyers making a deal that would send him to a rival up in Boston and personally I don’t think the Av’s will be willing to give up enough for Giroux. I do believe that the return has to be the equivalent of two first rounders though whether it’s a high-level prospect and late 1st round pick or two prospects who are of a higher stature. Regardless I think it is going to be incredibly painful to watch our captain go on and wear another teams sweater but if it has to happen I only pray that it is out of conference and that he goes on and wins the cup.
