While most of you may disagree with my point of views when it comes to this subject as yes Lehner called for AV to be fired, he was actively advocating for change. Do I think it was the best way to do so no, but apparently the NHL and the NHLPA were not listening to any other forms of complaint. So let’s break it all down.

Ambien and Benzos

Now I’m just an outsider looking in but if I interpret this using my knowledge of Lehner’s past teams and his expressed feelings of each place, it would leave me to believe that the two teams that are safe are Vegas and the Isles. Now that leaves Ottawa, Buffalo, and Chicago. Lehner has without a doubt been very vocal about his time with Buffalo being very poor especially with how they have dealt with his past injuries. This would also not be the first time that players have had concerns with Buffalo’s medical staff as the ongoing battle between them and Eichel continue. Possibly even Chicago especially with the sexual assault investigations going on with that medical staff and past instants involving Daniel Carcillo and teammate Steve Montador who was supposedly blackballed by the Blackhawks and forced to play in the AHL for the rest of his career for seeking outside help. Montador has previously suffered 19 concussions while playing in the NHL and sawt outside help for TBI issues. Montador eventually went on to die from   Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy. Montador was also documented to have substance abuse issues while under the Chicago Blackhawks. Carcillo also had noted that Montador was a huge advocate for him getting help and getting clean.

Fire Alain Vingeualt

Now this one I do not agree with. I do not understand how a player who has never played for a coach can call for said coaches’ job. Especially when the player does not have any personal experience with said coach. Lehner went on to say at a later date that AV was no distributing any unprescribed medication and was only referring to his “old school” ways. AV admitted he was a demanding coach and always requires max effort from his players and pushes them to be their very best at all times. I do not see a problem with that. Not many fans will unless it turns into a coach abusing a player, which has not been made the case at this time. AV also stated he is disappointed by how Lehner went about his displeasure and voicing his concerns so publicly.
