The only games that have been played are the rookie exhibition games, and yet here we are already talking about the effects of what happened injurie wise. Lets dive into it and figure out the extent of the Zayde Wisdom, Wade Allison, Sam Morin, and Kevin Hayes injuries are and how they happened.
6-8 Weeks:
Sam Morin had a low risk surgery to remove debris in his knee. He is currently supposed to slot into the 7th defenseman slot. This most likely leaves him unnavailable for 9-10 games possibly more if he does a rehab stint with the Phantoms.
Kevin Hayes on the other hand was skating with teamates yesterday and felt a pulling/ discomfort in his groin area. He underwent and MRI which confirmed an injury and he then proceeded with a surgery that afternoon. With this surgery it has the same timeline as Morin with missing 9-10 games but he should be available sooner then Morin as well as not need an AHL stint and be ready to go hopefully by mid november.
Indefinatly:
Wade Allison played so well during the first rookie game standing up for his teammate in a fight but also played a physical brand of hockey. Allison got tangled up with rookie defenseman Schneider of the Rangers and fell to the ice into the boards. He limped to the bench and required assistance to get to the locker room. Allison later found out it was a severe ankle sprain and only time will tell how long it will take for a full recovery.
Wisdom is going to lose signifagant time due to a shoulder injury suffered during developmentcamp. Not necissarily vital to the Flyers but this could hinder his progression towards the pro roster.
What Does It All Mean Moving Forward:

What does this mean for the openeing night roster? well it means that players like Clendening and Seeler now have oppurtunities to provide help at the 7th D-man spot. Some may ask why not Zamula or York but lets be honest they both need time in the AHL to hone their skills before they make the next step to the NHL. As far as replaceing Hayes is concerned i would imagine that Giroux will slot in at the 2C position until Hayes returns giving Farabee a chance as a top line winger with Konecney on the other side. That then opens up the 3C position to be more of a lock for Morgan Frost as long as he has a good camp. With that being said I see Derrick Brassard sloting in at the 3rd line right wing position. So here is what all of that will possibly look like.
| RW | C | LW |
| Konecny | Couturier | Farabee |
| Atkinson | Giroux | Van Reimsdyk |
| Brassard | Frost | Laughton |
| Abue-Kubel | Thompson | Lindblom |
| RD | LD |
| Ellis | Provorov |
| Risto | Sanhiem |
| Braun | Yandle |
Leaving your 7th D-man being Clendening or Seeler and your 13th forward being pretty much whoever has the best trainng camp/ preseason.
