Last nights game was a bit of a weird one. The Flyers controlled puck possession for the majority of the time last night to include 40 face off wins and 46 shots on net.

1st Period

The flyers started off strong with continuous pressure in the Columbus zone. The flyers would strike first with. Very accurate wrist shot from Voracek assisted by JVR beating Korpisalo right under his arm. But Columbus would strike back 3 minutes later with a goal from Jenner who snapped it right off the back of goalie Brian Elliot.

2nd Period

2 minutes and 30 second into the period as a penalty expired Dubois would score assisted by Jones and nyquist. Towards the end of the period JVR would score on the power play with assists coming from Voracek and Gostisbere. But 25 seconds later Jenner would strike for his second goal of the game with assists coming from Anderson and Milano. The Bluejackets would take a 3-2 lead into the 3rd.

3rd Period

Once again 2 minutes into the period Columbus would strike again with a goal by Anderson assisted by Kukan and Gavrikov. The Flyers would look very cold and stiff for the next 8ish minutes before Gostisbere would snipe one home from the blue line with assist coming from Giroux and Hayes. 2 minutes and 30 seconds later JVR would get his second goal of the game with assists coming from Provy and Voracek. 2 minutes later Hayes would force a turnover at the blue line while short handed and score on the break away unassisted. Columbus would then pull the goalie but to no avail as Raffl would score a empty netter assisted by Hayes. Then with 16 seconds left in the period the Flyers would be on the power play and who else but the hottest player on the team TK would snipe one home with assists by Niskanen and Provy. That would top off a whopping 5 goals that would go unanswered for a win on home ice.

Preview for tonight

The Flyers and Islanders will play tonight at 7 in New York. With the Flyers playing back to back I would expect some tired legs and for the young Carter Hart in net. I expect the Flyers stay hot but struggle and fall to the islanders tonight 3-2 in overtime. But tonight will be the night Joel Farabee gets his first NHL goal.
