Well the hottest team in hockey continues to show up night in and night out. With another clutch win the Flyers sit 3 points behind in the last playoff spot with 13 games left.

1st Period

The Flyers started out slow again first 9 or so minutes weren’t productive little shots. Ottawa struck first on one of there only chances in the first period on an odd man rush. With goal coming off the stick of Tierney assists from Harpur and balcers. But shortly after the Flyers would get there skates under them and started to win the small battles and everything started to turn around. But the period would end before they could strike back.

2nd Period

It wouldn’t take the Flyers long to show they were ready with chance after chance and shot after shot. The second period was 100% won by the Flyers which is weird to hear cause most of us remember the Flyers being Dismal during second periods. They would finally strike for their first goal at 2:02 into the 2nd with a double double goal off the leg of Couturier and then the leg of Lindblom into the net. With assists going to Ghosty and Couts. Only 4 minutes later though at 6:02 the flyers would get another on a turnover in the neutral zone with Nolan Patrick back handing it to slot in front of the net with the chip in redirect by Raffl. Majority of the rest of the period goes by with lots of shots and lots of chances but nothing until yet again another neutral zone turnover the flyer would break out on a 4 on 2 with quick snap shot at 19:23 by Laughton with beauty of a pass from TK with the other assist going to raffl.

3rd Period

The third would pass by with lots of defense but also with lots of chances and seemingly pass by with almost nothing till the Senators would get one back at 17:03 with the goal by Chlapik with the assists coming from Smith and Chabot. The game would end with out any craziness and with the addition of another 2 points.

Standings

The Flyers now sit 3 points behind both the Canadians and the Blue Jackets. With the next four games all against playoff contenders this next we will be the most pivotal stretch as it can either launch the Flyers into a playoff spot or kill their hopes all together so we shall see what happens over the next couple days.
