Well yet again when you think Brian Elliot was going to be consistently productive, he shows exactly why we traded for Cam Talbot. Elliot saw 19 shots in the first 33 minutes of the game and allowed 4. 3 out 4 of the goals were easy stops and are completely inexcusable but yet proves if you put shots on net good things will happen. This was a beyond frustrating game to watch. Simple break down for this game 5 unanswered goals went by until Myers would put his first NHL goal in the net in the last 15 seconds of the 2nd period. And then Giroux would get another in the 1st 15 seconds of the 3rd period. And the Laughton would tac on one more but it would all be too little to late as they would ultimately lose 5-3 unfortunately. Playoffs hopes just went from slim to almost none at this point.
